Hi, I’m Jasmine.
Understanding why we hurt and how we heal is my passion. My own journey has fueled this curiosity and my excitement to support you on yours.
Here is my story…
I come from a lineage of oppressed women whose culture stifled self-expression. I was born and raised in New York by immigrant parents who had escaped war in Iran. As a young girl, I experienced sexual and emotional trauma. Unable to communicate about my internal world, I slipped into depression and crushing shame. Growing up with this unexpressed emotion, I turned to an eating disorder and opiates to gain a sense of control over my life.
After spending the first half of my life disconnected from this body, as an adult, I developed an autoimmune disorder- to which I credit to that disconnection. I tried everything to manage the physical pain, and my symptoms only perpetuated. It was when I was ready to learn how to listen and be with the language of my body that I began to experience a felt sense of wholeness. This led to relief from both my physical and emotional suffering. Through embodiment practices, somatic experiencing, and sound, I was able to develop a relationship with my body and re-establish a sense of safety within myself. My renewed connection has allowed me to manage my autoimmune symptoms and live a full and present life.
My work reflects the amalgamation of practices that saved me and I am excited to share them, as I support you on your healing journey.
